Living Water

Today I learned something new, it was pretty cool actually...you know the account in the Bible of Jesus talking with a Samaritan woman at a well (John 4)? Well, what do you think that Jesus meant by living water? And what do you think His reason was for asking the woman about her husband and telling her the things about her 6 relationships? I always thought it was so that we would know that no matter who you are Jesus is for you. That anyone can be saved. That Jesus doesn't condemn, etc. And I think those answers are probably parts of the reasons and meaning too. However today I learned that when Jesus talked about water that will never make you thirsty...He ended up pointing the woman to her relationships to show her that her relationships and lust (her water so to speak) constantly left her feeling thirsty again and again. She would forever be searching for that satisfying and thirst-quenching drink and never find it. But Jesus told her that He could give her living water...basically water that would satisfy her and help her overcome the effects of the other water (continuing thirst/lust for more). I thought it was a pretty cool lesson!
